Foil is an innovative personalization technique, but it doesn't only cover the textile field. With the facilities now available on the market, it can also be applied to stationery. This flexible metallic sheet is very versatile.
You might be wondering how to apply it to paper. It's very simple, and we'll give you the instructions for projects here. But first, it's necessary to understand that this decoration process is based on foil, which is a metallic paper with a super shiny appearance. The adhesion step is because this metallic sheet adheres to a base that acts as a reactive agent. It does not need to be cut; instead, the foil ONLY adheres where the reactive agent is, whether it's a transfer base, a spray, or a cream.
For this paper, you first have to make a stencil of the design. In this case, it shouldn't be with vinyl, as it will ruin the paper when you stick it on. So, make it on another paper and use the reactive agent (gold size adhesive). Let it dry and remove the stencil, then place the foil over the reactive agent. It will magically adhere to your stencil design and give you beautiful results.
General recommendations for garments with foil are to wash them with a mild detergent, avoiding heat and direct ironing so that the shine and metallic finish are not lost.
